Tekno Sürüm did not begin with a software company entering agriculture. It began with a farm solving its own problem.
In 2014 the family business set up a 100-head dairy facility in Konya. Computer engineer Safa Batuhan Aslantaş, who spent his summers there, saw that most losses came from problems noticed too late: calvings that began at night, lameness that only became obvious weeks later.
Experiments using AI and computer vision to spot abnormalities in cattle began in 2019, reaching the finals of TÜBİTAK’s BIGG programme that same year. The company was formally founded in December 2023 with backing from the Türkiye Development Fund and LC Waikiki. It is supported under TÜBİTAK 1812 and holds a Seal of Excellence.
The system currently monitors more than 7,000 animals with a target above 20,000. Carcass scoring and weight tracking modules are on the roadmap. After consolidating its position in Türkiye, the company plans to expand into Europe and the MENA region from 2027.
As the founder puts it, importing comparable technology multiplies the cost. Building it here is not only about price: support comes in the same language, in the same time zone, from a team that knows the same field conditions.
